The Unarmed Aerial Systems (UAS) team, or Drone Unit, demonstrates the department's commitment to innovative safety solutions on campus. Utilizing a fleet of advanced police drones, the unit enhances operational effectiveness through real-time aerial monitoring and rapid deployment. The drones serve many purposes, from overseeing large gathering and community events to assisting in search and rescue missions and gathering vital evidence for investigations. The airborne perspective drones provide allows officers to assess situations quickly and make informed, timely decisions.

In addition to supporting daily operations, the Drone Unit is an invaluable asset during emergencies and complex incidents. Drones can access hard-to-reach or potentially dangerous areas, such as rooftops and remote locations, without putting officers at risk. The high-resolution cameras and live-streaming capabilities help coordinate responses and maintain security across campus. The unit also upholds strict privacy standards, operating in accordance with University policies and relevant laws to protect the rights of the community By integrating drone technology, University Police demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to public safety, emphasizing both preparedness and accountability.
